 To
become a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, the following statements must be
true:
-
I am a
registered member of St. Bartholomew Church.

I am
16 years of age, or have permission from my pastor.
-
I have
received Baptism, Confirmation & Communion.
-
I
presently practice my Catholic Faith by attending Mass, receiving Communion,
Contributing to the Support of the Church
and I am living a good and Charitable moral life!
-
(If
Married) I have been validly married in the Catholic Church and am
raising my children as Catholics!
If you cannot
answer yes to all of the above questions, you are not eligible to become a
sponsor for either Baptism or Confirmation.
- For a Baptism, only one
Godparent, who meets the requirements noted above, is needed. A
non-Catholic (a person who has been baptized and belongs to a non-Catholic
ecclesial community) may be asked to serve not as a godparent, but as a
"Christian Witness."
