The Manifesting the Kingdom award is given by the Diocesan Bishop to laymen and laywomen and to consecrated women and men, who have demonstrated the presence of Jesus in their lives and thus have participated in an exceptional way in sowing the Kingdom of God among us. The award recognizes exceptional service to the Church reflected in so many different ways in their lives, ministry and the work of those who receive it.
The St. Bartholomew Nominee and Recipient of this award for 2009 is Bert Towe. Bert is a long-time parishioner who ministers to the sick and elderly at the various nursing homes in the area. She is a Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist who not only serves the church on Sundays and weekdays, but also brings communion to the homebound. Bert conducts a weekly prayer service at Duff Manor. leads a group of women before each weekday mass in saying the Rosary, and she belongs to the St. Bartholomew Ladies of Charity Group. Thank you Bert for your service to our Lord!
